Yes we do. We have a good network of tour guides who specialize in private tours. Birding, river and cultural tours available, full or half days

Example of tour: Full day to Kartong on the South border with a visit to the cockle shell harvesters on the river, lunch in a local riverside lodge, with an hour’s trip in a dug-out canoe. Visit to the snake farm.

We can tailor make any trip according to your budget and taste.

Is there a mains electric supply?’’

A:

The lodges have good power source from solar system. There are electric sockets in your accommodation for your electrical equipment however as this is solar powered there is limited power that does not support hairdryers, irons and electric kettles. You are able to recharge mobiles, laptops, cameras.

Is there any internet access?

A:

Free Wifi is available. Local Sim cards work well with pay as you go, with internet data available. Purchase sim cards at the airport or in town with dealers.

Health Precautions?

A:

Malaria control by prescribed tablets should be arranged with your doctor at home prior to visiting Africa. We have mosquito nets at all windows and over the beds and we have the room treated regularly against insects, for your comfort. However if you are prone to bites, please bring repellent and bite relief creams. We are coastal so we experience less mosquitoes.

Can we drink the water?’’

Although we drink our own filtered well water we recommend that you purchase bottled drinking water either from us or from local supermarkets.

We have super king size with deep sprung mattresses and cotton sheets to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep, we change bed linen very 3-4 days.  Light blankets are also provided for cooler nights in Jan and Feb. At night the only sounds are the cicadas and grasshoppers and in the morning you will waken to bird song. There is no passing traffic noise just a few cows now and again.

What do I need to bring?

A:

Light cotton clothes, swimwear, sandals and beach towels. Medical supplies, toiletries, sun creams. At night the weather cools so a pair of light trouser and cool cardi or jumper and torch. A camera and binoculars good walking shoes, if you plan to go bird-watching. Reading light.

What are the BATHROOM facilities?

A:

Each lodge has en-suite facilities with a compost toilet, hand basin and good running showers with hot water.

Yes using the 3 pin uk standard plug sockets in rooms. Also fine for recharging laptops and cameras. You will need to check with your mobile supplier to see if your phone contract covers service in The Gambia. Local SIM cards are available and are a cheaper option.

Can I recharge my phone?


A:

We recommend that you take out your own holiday health and accident insurance.

What about insurance?


A:

We provide food parcels and cash to the local community, this is part of the 5% from guest bookings which we distribute to families. You can add donation towards this charity.

Solar lights are very good to give as donations as many people still use candle light, you can find these on Amazon.

Local families live in very humble conditions they very much appreciated any help.

We take local currency Dalasi, GBP Sterling, Euros and US Dollars.
