“Awareness”

My name is Reyes, I am from Spain but lived in West Africa for the past 40 years where I learned  Kundalini Yoga from a teacher who was a direct student of Yogi Bhajan, the founder of Kundalini Yoga. I qualified as a teacher in 1984 at the 3HO (Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization) Foundation in US. I have since then been teaching KY first in Togo and now in The Gambia where Ive lived since 2004.

Kundalini Yoga, also called “Yoga of awareness” is a dynamic yoga that, by the combination of its techniques, makes it  more efficient, more powerful than other types of Yoga. Some of the techniaques used are common to other types of Yoga and some are unique of Kundalini yoga.  The techniques used are: physical exercises, breathing, relaxation, mantras, mudras, bhandas  and meditation. The sets are called kriyas and there are thousands of kriyas working on the different systems   of the body ( digestive, glandular, nervous systems etc.), on the energy centers (chakras), the nadis (the meridians in acupuncture), the mind, the energy bodies (aura), the emotions. It is one of the fastest ways of producing results in terms of physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual growth. Everybody can practice Kundalini Yoga because thou challenging it is not competitive. Anyone does according to their capacity, but it requires a certain amount of commitment, enthusiasm and perseverance.

KUNDALINI YOGA

It utilizes many techniques such as physical exercises, breathing, meditation, mantras, relaxation, to improve the nervous and glandular systems, the digestive and eliminative systems, the circulatory system. It works on the chakras (energy centers), the spiritual bodies, the emotions, on releasing tensions, stress, pent-up emotions. and bringing inner peace and harmony.When practiced intensively within a group everybody is stimulated by the energy group and one can go through the challenges and recognize the limitless power of the self.

PRANIC HEALING 

Ancient science and art of healing brought by Master Choa Kok Sui from the Philippines  and spread now around  the world. Pranic Healing utilizes prana or life force to heal. In the basic Pranic healing workshop one learns the basic concepts of prana and the basic techniques for healing. There are two main principals used, cleansing and energizing. It is a non-touching method and is used as a complementary therapy. The prana is absorbed by the healer from the surroundings and projected to the patient. The workshop lasts for 16 hours divided into two days.  A healing manual and a certificate are given the end of the workshop.
