PAST ENDEAVORUS

Greetings Evergreen Guest, Friends and Family

Hope you are all well and keeping safe in this time of unrest and uncertainty.

We have all been affected by this virus. Our lives turned upside down.

The Poor have been affected in Gambia. Only small numbers of the virus  have been detected. The closing of hotels, travel has had an impact, People have lost their jobs and left with no income with nowhere to turn to.

Most Gambians live hand to mouth and one or two who work usually support a vast family. already we are seeing the outcome, family's without basic food.

We hope with your help we will be able to provide a bag of rice to  families who really need the help.

A sack of rice cost D1200 £20 €23

We would be extremely happy to have your support by making any donation or contribution.

This is very much appreciated, to thank you for your support we will send you,, post updates of distribution.

With your support we can make a difference to the people  in  The Gambia.

Evergreen Supporters on the front of the battle against Corona-Virus

PART 1: 2020

Evergreen Eco Retreat and team recently concluded a 5 day food distribution to families in Lamin village, Kendingsabel, Tujereng, Batokunku and Sanyang.

Among the donated food items were 70 bags of rice and 14 bags of onions backed by friends and guest of Evergreen Eco Retreat.  With your help we have been able to give to 70 families.

While distributing I have come across some very poor families this has been difficult to see, also knowing that this is just the beginning. What is going to happen month and the month later, the unknown!

Corona-Virus (Covid-19) pandemic has affected all people in one way or another. The poor are always the ones who are affect the first and the hardest. Here in Gambia although the virus number is low, people are already without work and without pay. They lack basic food just to keep themselves during this difficult time.

We  are receiving more donations and are plan to delivery food supplies in the coming weeks. We are here on the ground seeing first hand the people who are more in need. A wall is made up of many bricks every little helps.  If you can please keep sending.

We can’t thank you enough for the donations you have sent. Please receive the appreciation and gratitude of the people of The Gambia and from us at Evergreen for supporting this worthy cause. It has definitely put smiles on a lot of people’s faces.

Sending you love and light.

 Stay safe and blessed.

PART 2 3 June 2020

Thank you for those who have donated, your support has gone a long way and has sustained over 80 families from hardship.

We are about to do our next rice distribution this will help another 50 families.

Tourism has taken a blow here in The Gambia and those who rely on  this income are stranded. Some are turning their hands to other things like farming, family support which will not last, and begging has increased.

This is by way far from over, please if you can support us we together can make a difference.

Please donate to gregpgeorge@hotmail.co.uk
